This Cookie Policy explains how Ollie.Cloud LLC ("Ollie," "we," "us," "our") and our providers use cookies and similar technologies on our marketing site (ollie.cloud) and our application (app.ollie.cloud). Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally, and our Subprocessors list, which names every provider that processes data on our behalf.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to keep you signed in, to remember preferences, and to help understand how a site is used. We also use similar technologies, such as browser local storage, session storage, and pixels. In this Policy we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies."
We keep our use of cookies deliberately light. We use them to:
We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run third-party ad networks, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.
Our two properties behave differently. On the marketing site (ollie.cloud), the only analytics we use is Plausible, which is cookieless: it sets no cookies and collects no personal data. On the application (app.ollie.cloud), which is the signed-in product, we use authentication and session cookies from our login provider (Clerk), plus product analytics from PostHog and error monitoring from Sentry, as described below.
These are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include the authentication and session cookies set by our login provider, Clerk; security and bot-mitigation cookies set by Cloudflare (including Turnstile on public forms); and payment and fraud-prevention cookies set by Stripe on billing pages. Without these you could not sign in, submit our forms, or complete a purchase.
These remember choices you make, such as theme, units, density, and layout, to give you a more consistent experience. Many of these preferences are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies.
These help us understand how the application is used and keep it reliable. In the application we use PostHog for product analytics, including masked session replay (in which text and form inputs are masked so their contents are not captured), to diagnose usability issues. We also use Sentry for error, crash, and performance monitoring, including on-error session replay that is captured only around an error; Sentry's browser features rely on session storage rather than cookies. PostHog and Sentry process this data in the United States. On the marketing site we use Plausible, which is cookieless and collects no personal data.
The specific cookies present depend on the pages you visit and the features you use. The table below summarizes the main cookies and their sources; individual cookie names and lifetimes may change as our providers update their products.
| Cookie / source | Category | Purpose | Approx. retention |
|---|---|---|---|
__session (Clerk) | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in during a session | Session |
__client_uat (Clerk) | Strictly necessary | Records your signed-in state across tabs | ~1 year |
__cf_bm (Cloudflare) | Strictly necessary | Bot mitigation and security, including Turnstile on public forms | ~30 minutes |
__stripe_mid / __stripe_sid (Stripe) | Strictly necessary | Payment processing and fraud prevention on billing pages | ~1 year / ~30 minutes |
ph_* (PostHog) | Analytics | Product usage analytics and masked session replay | Up to ~1 year |
| Plausible | Analytics (cookieless) | Aggregate marketing-site statistics | No cookies set |
On our marketing site, Plausible sets no cookies at all; the entry above is included only to make its role clear.
For visitors in the EEA and UK, we use strictly necessary cookies because they are essential to provide the Service you have requested. For analytics and monitoring (PostHog and Sentry), our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the application is used, improving its features, and keeping it secure and reliable, balanced against your privacy. We do not rely on these tools for advertising, and we do not use them to build cross-site profiles of you.
You can control cookies and analytics in the following ways:
Plausible requires no opt-out because it sets no cookies and collects no personal data.
We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools or legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date shown above. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
